Guided Walk - Airside

Guided Walk - Airside

Starts: September 19, 2026, 9:30 am
Ends: September 19, 2026, 1:00 pm
Location: Grafton Underwood

A 384th Bombardment Group Museum organised event - come with us on a guided tour of the airside sections of the airfield. This is a unique glimpse into this area of the former airfield as it now sits exclusively on private land with access strictly controlled.

Expect to see the remains of the three main runways, taxiways, areas of both bomb dumps and also a couple of aircraft hardstand points. Our knowledgeable guides will fill the time with information on the operations of the airfield, along with some stories of the personnel who served here.

Walk meets at 9.30am, commences at 10am and should be finished around 1pm. The distance for this walk is approximately 4 miles. Pre-booking essential, please click on the link below to reserve your place.

We do not charge a fee in advance for our guided walks, but instead rely on peoples' goodwill to donate at the end of your visit - this ensures we can welcome anyone to visit us. Please remember that all proceeds raised go directly back into the Project, and fund raising like this enables the Project to survive, grow and flourish. A donation of £10 per person is politely and respectfully suggested - thank you.

In 2026 we will also offer the opportunity to enable us to claim Gift Aid on your donation (with permission), further enhancing the fundraising opportunity these walks provide us.
